Dr. Shrikant Lohokare is a technology executive and entrepreneur with over 20 years of technology, business, operations, and financial leadership and general management experience at Fortune500 companies, startups, venture capital and industry organizations. Shrikant has a track record of ideating, developing, and commercializing innovative hardware and software products, leading go-to-market strategies, incubating and scaling multi-100-million dollars profitable business P/Ls with focus on customer value.
Shrikant is an evangelist of open innovation and ecosystem initiatives. In assuming the CEO role at Open Source FPGA Foundation, Shrikant brings his broad experience in the semiconductor-electronics industry. Most recently he was Chief Executive of Global Semiconductor Alliance, where he led an expanded ecosystem vision and impact and launched strategic initiatives in emerging markets including IoT and Automotive. He founded and served on Board-of-Directors of a Global IoT Security Working Group, operationalizing an end-to-end supply chain collaborative of over 30 companies. Prior to GSA, Shrikant was Cofounder & Chief Strategy Officer of Tantiv4, an award winning AIoT – Edge-Cloud platform startup, and continues to serve as Board Advisor post its PE acquisition.
Shrikant’s entrepreneurial journey began as President & CEO of NanoSi Technologies, where he raised venture funding and commercialized silicon quantum dot technology with applications in Solar PV and Optoelectronics. After exiting NanoSi, he joined 21Ventures (early stage VC fund with $300M AUM) as General Partner, where he led portfolio investments in advanced semiconductor/electronic materials, design automation, MEMS, IoT and AI led technology startups and served as Board Director/Observer on some including Advanced Telemetry (acquired by Siemens), Agent Video Intelligence, Lightwave Power, Micro-Logic Design Automation, and TBT Group. Since then, over the last decade, he has advised several startups, accelerators, and innovation organizations in those segments.
During his two tenures spanning nine years at Lam, Shrikant held cross-functional leadership and executive roles in Corporate Marketing & Strategic Development, Global Technology, Product Management & Marketing, and Business Development for Emerging Business, Global Products, and New Product Groups. At KLA, he was Head/GM of Reticle & Photomask Inspection BU, where he led turnaround P/L growth and expanded strategic partnerships and collaborations in EDA/DFM segments.
Shrikant is inventor of 12 US Patents in semiconductor process, equipment, sensing, and automation. He is a recognized thought leader, author of industry reports, roadmaps, and peer reviewed papers. He is Strategic Advisor to Silicon Catalyst, the only incubator for semiconductor startups.
Shrikant holds a Doctorate from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, an integrated Masters from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and Executive Management Program from Stanford University. He is an avid reader with broad interests and an ardent practitioner of Heartfulness Meditation, a training he effectively uses in leading businesses and organizations with heart and mind. Shrikant lives with his family in the San Francisco Bay Area.
