SAN JOSE, Calif., July 6, 2021 – Rapid Silicon, the leading developer of next-generation power and performance systems that enable diverse FPGA design capabilities, today announced it will join the Open Source FPGA Foundation (OSFPGA Foundation), a non-profit organization focused on accelerating worldwide awareness and widespread adoption of FPGA technology, as a Premier Member. Rapid Silicon will also join the Board of Directors of the OSFPGA Foundation and contribute to the collaborative work of advancing open-source FPGA capabilities across the FPGA ecosystem.

The OSFPGA Foundation has continually grown from its inception in April to become one of the leading drivers of the democratization of FPGA technology. The Foundation’s mission is to accelerate worldwide awareness and widespread adoption of FPGA technology through the proliferation of open-source FPGA and embedded FPGA (eFPGA) fabrics and associated tooling.

“We are thrilled to join the OSFPGA Foundation to establish industry standards and promote FPGA technology by providing an open, user-focused, collaborative environment,” said Dr. Naveed Sherwani, Chairman and CEO at Rapid Silicon. “As a premier member, we look forward to working closely with the Foundation to further the mission of democratizing FPGA technology.”

“Rapid Silicon is trailblazing the development of domain specific Open FPGA technology applications and solutions across diverse industry verticals and emerging markets. We are excited to have Rapid Silicon as a premier member and key contributor to the advancement of our mission.” said Dr. Shrikant Lohokare, CEO at OSFPGA Foundation.
